Can I use my accountant’s office address as my company’s registered office?
You can use your accountant’s office address as your company’s registered office address if you obtain prior written consent from your accountant. A company’s registered office is the physical address at which official documents and communications may be sent to, and served on, the company.
Your accountant can administer and control all notices served on your company, including correspondence from ASIC, and can act immediately if there are any serious issues. Each statement or notice sent by ASIC is safely stored in your accounting firm’s filing system.
All companies are required to have a registered office. You can’t allocate a Post Office box as your company’s registered office. If your company changes it’s registered office you will need to notify ASIC, in Form 484 - Change to company details, within 28 days from the change.
